BoFEP & FUNDY RELATED PUBLICATIONS

Periodically BoFEP produces publications pertaining to the Bay of Fundy ecosystem. Some are "popular" in style and designed for a general audience. Others are of a more technical nature and intended primarily for a scientific audience. Some of the publications listed below are produced independently by BoFEP members, but are of sufficient interest to the broader Bay of Fundy community that they are reproduced here with permission of the author.

On October 28th 2003, a forum on the State of the Minas Basin (SOMB) was held in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The purpose of this meeting was to bring together a diverse group of resource users, scientists, managers, and individuals with knowledge of the local environmental characteristics to discuss the health and quality of the Minas Basin watershed.

February 2004.  30 pages [PDF format] In 2003, the Minas Basin Working Group hosted a number of community forumsn in the Minas Basin watershed area.  The Working Group implemented a work plan to address the issues that were identified at these community forums. Subsequently, the Working Group hired a coordinator to work with community groups to develop action plans for the Minas Basin Watershed. This is a report summarizing the results of this initiative.

The purpose of this collaborative research project was to integrate the Bay of Fundy Tidal Barrier Audits into a comprehensive digital spatial database being developed in a concurrent project with Environment Canada. Together, they will be used as a baseline to assess the cumulative impacts of tidal barriers in the Upper Bay of Fundy and serve as a platform for future research.
