International Ocean Institute The International Ocean Institute was founded in 1972 as a knowledge-based non-governmental, non-profit international organisation devoted to the sustainable development of the oceans. It operates through the activities of its Headquarters  in Malta and Operational Centres located in 25 countries, including Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS.
Atlantic Coastal Zone Information Steering Committee (ACZISC)

ACZISC was established in 1992 to foster cooperation in Atlantic Canada with regards to integrated coastal and ocean management (ICOM), coastal mapping and geomatics.

Brier Island Ocean Study Brier Island Ocean Studies (BIOS) is a marine wildlife research organization, based om Brier Island, Nova Scotia, that has been monitoring the ecosystem of the lower Bay of Fundy, with emphasis on documenting seasonal habitat use by cetaceans and seabirds.
