Continue BoFEP’s strategic development - overall priority activities to pursue (MAJ Nov 2008).
  • Be inclusive.
  • Incorporate economic factors in our activities.
  • Broaden the approach to ecological planning e.g. conservation forum.
  • Facilitate community involvement.
  • Develop a report card on BoFEP’s achievements.
  • Strengthen the organization – more active SC.
7
Strengthen the Working Groups
  • We have 11 active Wgs.
  • Are there new issues to be addressed?
  • Can we activate the inactive Wgs?
  • Are there champions for all the Wgs?
  • Can we link to other groups? E.g. OMRN, NGOs.
  • Can we increase community involvement?
8
Strengthening the Steering Committee
  • Members to participate in Wgs.
  • Members to represent other orgs and create linkages.
  • Assist in finding our base funding.
9
Next Steps - What else should we be doing?
  • Stand for a major issue – e.g. controlling cumulative impacts on the ecosystem and resources. Be a visible advocate for the health of the bay.
  • Strengthen partnerships – link to other groups and their proactive activities.
  • Attract new leaders and members for new ideas and initiatives.
  • Find solid funding.
  • Assist/encourage the WGs with their activities.
  • Continue the BoFEP Outreach WG discussions.
  • Plan for panel discussions to the 8th BoFEP workshop.
